Home Theatre PC's

I went all out with my last PC. This year I invested in the technology I had previously only read and dreamed about. SLI dual video cards, a High Definition TV and all in one place. Of course, it took some doing to make all of this happen. Read my htpc blog to learn more.

UT3

Unreal Tournament

In 1999 I was being disheartened by the quality of PC games and first-person shooters (fps) in particular. They all seemed to vary very little and offer very little dynamic intelligence or replay value after Doom 2.

Enter Unreal Tournament by Epic Games/Digital Extremes. It was a gift from my wife, which was surprisingly sweet. The game itself was mind-blowing: especially the sniper scope feature. After completing the single-player missions, I took my skills online and fell in love with the excitement of online gaming.

With the recent release of the 3rd generation of the game, UT3 has wowed me with its sick visuals and fantastic gameplay.

Alcom - The Call sign

The default character model in UT was commando with the "Malcom" skin.

Eventually I used a Necris skin with the same callsign all the way through. As a matter of face, I use the same name in every online game. I play with integrity (no aim-bots) and encourage fair play - although I have been kicked for being too awesome!

BBR Server

After playing various mods for UT including turbo insta-gib, Face-only servers and Rocket Arena, I stumbled upon a server with a consistently low ping and and equally low gamespeed. This was the BBR Server provided by BBR Technologies of Vancouver, BC.

This place was unique. The gamespeed was actually really low: 65% with the Sniper Arena, Low-Grav and Fatboy mutators. For more info on the new BBR Server, read the links page.
